JOB PURPOSE:

The L&D Manager is responsible for designing and implementing learning strategies, managing training programs, and developing employees’ skills and knowledge within an organization. S/he is to promote a culture of learning within DAWN and to support its staff to develop their skills, enhance their capabilities and increase their effectiveness to the mutual benefit of the organization and themselves.

Key Responsibilities:

L&D Strategy

  • Defining and executing L&D strategies and plan in collaboration with Head of Departments
  • Identify the learning and development needs of the organization through various methods such as surveys, performance reviews, and consultation with managers and employees.
  • Create and develop training programs and curricula that align with the organization’s goals and objectives, utilizing various instructional techniques and resources.
  • Creating and managing the budget for training and development activities, ensuring cost-effective solutions.

Training Development and Management

  • Develop training plan for all staff based on needs analysis, skills requirements, department and level under the supervision of Head of Talent
  • Develop and keep up to date training materials including trainers’ guides, using adult education and participatory training approach which includes all Visual Aids, Handouts and supporting materials
  • Prepare as needed case studies and other relevant training tools on technical and non-technical topics
  • Establish goals and objectives and processing guides for on the job training activities
  • Together with HR Manager, design and implement regular induction & overview training to new staff. Supporting HR in use of and adherence to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Support to internal Trainers in designing and implementing periodical training

Other

  • Identify relevant external training and exposure visit opportunities for staff
  • Organize external trainings and exposure visits and coordinate the same for the staff
  • Support external trainers during classroom training sessions
  • Provide written and formal feedback to Line Managers on the progress of trainees
  • Evaluate regular and standardized pre and posttests during training sessions
  • Collate and submit training report and feedback to Head of Talent.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Psychology, or related area of study. Professional certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 year as a L&D Manager, Training Manager or similar with MFIs working experience
  • Knowledge of effective learning and development methods is a must
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices
  • Proficient in MS Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Experience in project management and budgeting
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, monitoring and planning skills
  • Commitment to and understanding of aims, values and principles of the institution
  • Proven team working ability
  • English Language skills highly desired
